IWC – The Last Australian Spitfire

In 2019, IWC Schaffhausen launched their Spitfire watch collection at the SIHH Watch Fair in Geneva. IWC and DMARGE once again partnered to localise this release through Australian storytelling.

As part of IWC’s Longest Flight campaign, we looked to find an Australian angle to this story. After much searching, we found the last remaining Australian Spitfire aircraft from World War 2. This particular Supermarine Spitfire Mk VIII was flown by the Australian airforce and piloted by one of Australia’s most famous wing commanders, Bobby Gibbs.

The film takes place in Tamora, 500 km west of Sydney and showcases the collection of iconic Swiss-made watches against the might of one of the last remaining Spitfire fighter planes in the world.

The film was watched by over 200,000 and had a completion rate of 83%.
